Is MovieLinkBD Safe? How to Check You Are on the Real Site

It is a fair question to ask of any free site, and the honest answer has two halves: what we control, and what you control. This page covers both, without pretending the second half does not exist.

First: confirm where you are

Most bad experiences people describe to us did not happen on our site. They happened on a copy that borrowed our name. The single most useful habit is to read the address bar before you do anything else — our addresses are listed on Official Domains.

• A genuine page never asks you to create an account to browse.
• A genuine page never asks for a payment, a card number or a one-time code.
• A genuine page never requires a browser extension or a "special player" to be installed.
• If a page demands any of those to continue, close the tab. That is a copy, whatever the logo says.

What a look-alike copy actually does

A clone typically reproduces the brand name, the layout, and sometimes the exact wording of a site's description, then relies on a visitor not checking the domain. Because it is not run by us, we cannot say what its adverts do, what it stores, or where it sends a click. That is the real risk — not the brand, but the impostor.

Second: ordinary habits that apply to any free site

• Adverts are how free sites run. A pop-up opening in a new tab is normal; close it and carry on. What is not normal is a page that will not let you leave, or one that claims your device is infected — that claim is always false.
• Keep your browser updated. Nearly every real browser-level attack depends on an out-of-date browser.
• Be sceptical of anything you are asked to install. A video file does not need a special codec pack, and it never needs an .exe or an .apk from a pop-up. If a file you downloaded will not play, that is a codec question, not a security one — see HEVC vs AVC.
• Check the file you opened is a video. A real download is an .mkv or an .mp4. If it arrived as something else, delete it.

What we do not do
